15th NNNGO Annual Conference

Global Good Practices in NGO Regulations

9 December 2015, Lagos, Nigeria

Call for Registration

The 15th Annual Conference of the Nigeria Network of NGOs will take place on 9 December 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Under the general theme: ‘’Global Good Practices in NGO Regulations’’, the Conference aims to be a learning event, offering participants-drawn from government, civil society, donors and multi-lateral organisations- the unique opportunity to contribute their experience and knowledge to the theme of the Conference.

The NNNGO Annual Conference (the only major civil society gathering in Nigeria) is the central instrument to foster exchange on the work of NGOs in Nigeria, discuss and highlight effective ways of strengthening the Nigerian 3rd sector space.

In 2014, the 14th Annual NNNGO Conference titled, “CSO Legitimacy, Transparency and Accountability: The role of government and civil society”, served as a unique opportunity for civil society organizations and government to discuss and make remarkable contributions to issues around NGO accountability and to encourage compliance with existing regulations.

In 2013, the Conference highlighted effective ways in which civil society organizations in partnership with other actors (government, donors and the private sector) can evolve alternative sources of funding for development under the theme: Evolving with our Sector: Finding Alternatives to Funding our Work.

The 15th Annual Conference will take place at a time when civil society in Nigeria is faced with regulation issues and continued efforts by the Nigerian government to regulate the work of NGOs in the Country.

The purpose of the 15th Annual Conference is to expand knowledge of civil society organizations and governments on CSO regulations, best practices and innovations in order to spark a healthy debate on improving the regulatory environment for Nigerian CSOs.
